USA: HSF/Hormel Scholarship Program 2012-2013

The HSF/Hormel Scholarship Program is a scholarship of $2,500 awarded for 2012-2013 for applicants interested in a career in the food industry.

In addition, interested students can apply to be considered for a paid internship. Internships include either free housing or a housing stipend. Please follow these steps in order to apply for the internships available:

Click here www.hormelfoods.com/careers to go to their website and click on the “career choices”; then on “internship Opportunities”; then on “Learn More About Internship Opportunities at Hormel Foods”. You can then view and/or apply to open jobs.

Once you create your new account under the “How did you hear about us“, click “Hispanic Scholarship Fund” under the drop down menu, and click on “Hispanic Scholarship Fund” again under the “Specifically What Source” drop down menu.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be of Hispanic heritage
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States with a valid permanent residant card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Be a Junior in the fall of 2010 with an intended graduation date between December 2011 and August 2012
  • Be majoring in:
    • Accounting,
    • Finance,
    • Mechanical Engineering (includes Mechanical Technology),
    • Civil Engineering,
    • Electrical Engineering,
    • Engineering (includes Design and Packaging Engineering)
    • Industrial Engineering/Technology (includes Industrial Management)
    • Manufacturing Engineering,
    • Business Administration (includes Operations),
    • Management,
    • Agriculture Science/Agronomy (includes Agriculture Engineering, Agribusiness, Ag Economics, Food Service),
    • Computer Science,
    • Information Technology (IT/MIS) (includes Computer Information Systems),
    • Zoology (includes Animal Science),
    • Marketing (includes Professional Selling),
    • Hospitality Administration (includes Hotel/Restaurant Management)
  • Submit resume with application
  • Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Application Available: September 1, 2013

Application Postmark Deadline: December 15, 2013
