Purpose of award: To encourage the English translation of Scandinavian literature.
Eligibility requirements: The award is given to the best English translation of poetry, fiction, drama or literary prose written by a Scandinavian author in Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian or Swedish after 1800. Translations may not previously have been published in the English language.
Target applicant: Junior high students or younger
Graduate school students
College students
Adult students
Minimum GPA: None
Amount: $1,000-$2,000.
Number of awards: 2. Scholarship may be renewable.
Deadline: June 1.
