Scholarship Description: The David Mayes Scholarship is awarded to an MPhil/PhD student intending to study in the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. The scholarship is intended for students who plan to undertake research in the field of silicon chip design. Research should not be weapons related but rather should be aimed at promoting, protecting and enhancing life. The applications should be submitted by 29th March 2013.

Selection Criteria: The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Within their application, applicants should submit details of their research project and demonstrate how their project will fulfil the aims of the scholarship.
