Program Description

Google and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) have partnered to provide financial resources to high-performing Latino undergraduate and graduate students interested in a career in the field of computer science. Awards are in the amount of $10,000 and are disbursed in Fall 2013.

Awardees will be invited to attend Google’s Scholars’ Retreat held in summer 2013 with all expenses paid. Google will contact students regarding the retreat.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Be of Hispanic heritage
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or a legal permanent resident of the United States with a valid Social Security Number at the time of application. All legal permanent residents must submit a copy of their valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale
  • Must enroll FULL-TIME as a Junior, Senior, or Senior 5th-year at a four-year college or university, or as a Masters/Doctorate student at the graduate level at a U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam in the 2013-2014 academic year
  • Must be majoring in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering(with a heavy computer science course load)
  • Must submit a resume with application
  • Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
