Scholarship Description: This Scholarship was established, through the Victoria University Foundation, in 2002 by Peter Preston-Thomas in honour of his daughter Averil. The Scholarship shall be open to full-time female students studying any area of science, including Architecture and Design, from 300-level, BSc(Hons) and Masters papers by course work.
Number of award(s): One scholarship is awarded by Victoria University Foundation.
Duration of award(s): The scholarship is offered for one year.
What does it cover? The Victoria University of Wellington Foundation shall determine the value of the Scholarship after consideration of the income from the fund. The Scholarship shall have a value of approximately $750.
Selection criteria: The Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit. In the case of two or more equally worthy candidates, financial need will also be taken into consideration.
