Scholarship Description: The skin Inflammation Genetics group, University of Luebeck, Germany is searching for a highly motivated student in genetic studies of complex human diseases. Possible projects associated with this position include genome wide studies of autoimmune skin blistering disorders, molecular profiling of skin inflammation, applications of “next-generation” sequencing technologies in these studies, and development of statistical and bioinformatic tools to combine population genetics and disease gene mapping. Candidates with strong background in statistical genetics, epidemiology, are encouraged to apply. Those with training in mathematics or computer sciences and interests in the genetic basis of complex traits are also welcome. The fellow is expected to benefit also from close interactions with members of the university focus program Genetic Medicine and the excellence cluster inflammation at interfaces. Applicants should hold a MSc (or an equivalent degree).
