Deakin University’s Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research offers PhD scholarships for Australian or New Zealand Citizens. Two PhD projects are available in dietary intervention and receptor genes. Project one based at Deakin University’s Melbourne Burwood Campus will be related to research in Dietary intervention assessing role of dietary fat on taste, satiety, and food preference whereas project two area of research will be identifying genes that dictate why some people consume excess dietary fat and is based at CSIRO Sydney. Deakin University provides the PhD Scholarship  in the Center for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research to the Australian students.$24,653 is funding is available per annum. Scholarship is offered for three years for a Doctoral candidate and two years for a Masters Candidate years. Application must received before 17 June,2013.

CSIRO Animal, Food and Health Sciences division provides integrated research solutions for Australia’s animal and food industries, from livestock and sustainable food production to bio security and diagnosis of zoonotic diseases, food manufacturing, and the impact of food on health. CSIRO’s whole of chain, multidisciplinary, and ‘one-health’ perspectives promote positive impacts for Australia’s consumers and customers. The scholarship is linked with the “Identifying why some people consume excess dietary fat – A twin study” project funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).
