Lalji PfAL Scholarships


LSE, International Development offers Lalji PfAL Scholarships for Graduate Study in the field of Development Management and International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies in UK. 15 full scholarships are awarded covering  fees and living costs. The students of South Sudan, Kenya and Uganda can apply for this scholarship. The application deadline is 13th May 2013. All successful candidates who completed a Lalji PfAL Scholarship application will be notified of the outcome by email before June 30th 2013.


Study Subject(s): Scholarships are offered for MSc Development Management or the MSc International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies (IDHE) program.
Course Level: This scholarship is available for pursuing master’s degree level.
Scholarship Provider: Through the generous support of the Lalji family and the Programme for African Leadership (PfAL) Foundation, LSE (London School of Economics and Political Science) offers scholarship.

Eligibility: -In 2013/14, the scholarships will be awarded to applicants from South Sudan, Kenya and Uganda, with a preference for those who have completed their previous degrees within Africa.

-In order to be eligible for one of these awards, you must first apply for a place on the MSc Development Management or the MSc IDHE before Monday 13th May 2013.  Only those candidates who are in receipt of an offer for one of the two programmes will then be considered for a Lalji PfAL Scholarship.


Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of South Sudan, Kenya and Uganda can apply for this scholarship.


Scholarship Description:  Through the generous support of the Lalji family and the Programme for African Leadership (PfAL) Foundation, LSE is delighted to announce that it is making available a scholarship fund equivalent to 15 full scholarships to students from selected African countries for the MSc Development Management or the MSc International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies (IDHE) starting in the academic year 2013/14. The scholarships will cover fees and living costs, and the value for each student will be assessed according to financial need.As well as studying for a prestigious London School of Economics MSc programme, all Lalji PfAL Scholarship recipients will participate in an additional programme of workshops, lectures and seminars focusing on African leadership and the challenges and opportunities facing the continent.

Selection Criteria: Assessment for an award will be made by the LSE Financial Awards Panel and on the basis of financial need. It is therefore important that you complete the Lalji PfAL Scholarship application form, in full, accurately and promptly.


Notification: All successful candidates who completed a Lalji PfAL Scholarship application will be notified of the outcome by email before June 30th 2013.
