University of Manchester offers Equity and Merit Scholarships for Ugandans. This scholarship is for pursuing postgraduate taught master’s degree level. Scholarships are available in Engineering, Environment, Medical and Life Sciences, Law and Education. The scholarship provides full tuition fees, return international air fares and living expenses. Student must hold a first or upper second class (or the equivalent) undergraduate degree. Student must be English proficient and have a minimum of two years of work experience. After completion of their studies students must return their home and able to demonstrate his/her potential to make a positive impact on the future of Uganda.

Eligibility: The scholarships are aimed at applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds. -Applicants must: be a resident citizen of Uganda and have not previously studied abroad;

-hold a first or upper second class (or the equivalent) undergraduate degree;

-have a minimum of two years relevant work experience; be committed to returning home and able to demonstrate his/her potential to make a positive impact on the future of Uganda;

-have a clear idea how studying in the UK would benefit both his/her career and the development of Uganda. -have achieved a grade 6 or above in English Language at Ugandan Certificate of Education level; or,

-have a minimum IELTS result of 6.5, or a minimum TOEFL result of 88-89.
